Our story & mission

Discover the heart behind TheGlenn, our journey, and the compassionate community we are building for families navigating life's most challenging moments.

The journey that inspired us

The Glenn was inspired by our family’s personal journey through childhood cancer, grief, and loss. After losing my young son, I began to recognize how isolating these experiences can be, not only for parents, but for siblings, survivors, and entire families trying to navigate life after trauma and major illness.

What began as a deeply personal experience grew into a desire to create a safe, compassionate space where children, teens, and families could find connection, understanding, and community with others who truly understand these journeys. The Glenn was created to offer gentle encouragement, emotional safety, peer connection, and hope for families navigating grief, cancer, serious illness, and life transitions. Our goal is to help people feel less alone while creating a community rooted in compassion, belonging, and support.

Our core belief: no one should grieve alone

The Glenn was created from the belief that no child, sibling, survivor, caregiver, or family should have to navigate grief, cancer, serious illness, or life-changing trauma alone. Through lived experience, we came to understand how deeply families need safe spaces where they can simply be understood without pressure, judgment, or isolation.

Our goal is to create a compassionate, community-centered environment where connection, belonging, and gentle encouragement can exist alongside grief and healing. We believe that meaningful peer relationships and supportive community spaces can make an incredible difference for children and families walking through difficult seasons of life.

Making an impact: fostering hope and healing

We hope The Glenn helps children, teens, survivors, siblings, caregivers, and families feel less alone during some of the most difficult seasons of their lives. Our goal is to create a safe and compassionate community where people can find connection, understanding, encouragement, and emotional support without judgment or pressure.

We hope participants leave knowing that their experiences matter, their grief is valid, and that healing and hope can exist alongside loss and hardship. Through peer connection, community support, and meaningful relationships, we want to help create spaces where families can breathe, belong, and feel supported as they navigate grief, cancer, serious illness, and major life transitions. Ultimately, we hope The Glenn becomes a place of comfort, resilience, and gentle hope for the families we serve and for the broader community as well.

"The Glenn provided a much-needed space for my family to connect and heal. We felt truly understood."
